Royal Oak #4

I love the brick buildings that
melt into sunrise and
sunset.

California’s bricks crumble but
oh how I’ve missed them.

I like the reminder that Earth
is not all blue that it beats
with orangey red
flame warmth of Autumn.

Crunchy maize leaves between
my fingers and a long night
spent in the crisp of cold black.

The universe reaching from home
thru time tickling me to
pay attention.
Life’s joy overflows.

Joy like warm bricks
breathing the day’s heat out into
dusk
reaching back.
